2025 Pre-Season Update

Well that final conditioning runs are behind us as we now wrap up what has been an outstanding preseason campaign and look toward the 2025 season.

Returning in the New Year we were met with some extreme weather conditions which challenged the program and the players. Our traditional heavy load through the month of February saw the group move away from the confines of the College each Saturday to increase the conditioning load.

JT’s hill session with Adelaide Oval as a back drop, Grange beach cross fit session and a training run courtesy of our friends at Hectorville oval all provided the uplift in the playing groups fitness and connection.

These sessions and this block of work culminated in a “ ROCK SOLID “ leadership and Culture session with David Arnfield at the Queens Head following the final challenging session of the weekend program.

Our next block included the build toward trial games in preparation for our round 1 game. Unfortunately due to the oppressive heat we were forced to cancel our first trial, but managed to get on the track the following week against Brighton. All four grades used the opportunity to gain some match fitness as well as allowing our new coaching group to gain greater insight into the players under match conditions.

The final stanza of preseason concluded last weekend with an intense internal trial on the hallowed turf of Womma Oval which again proved a valuable exercise in refining our game style and game awareness.

Over the course of Preseason we have seen a total of 132 players hit the training track across a total of 28 sessions including trials. We have seen the emergence of some new talent to the club and the continued growth of so many from the 2024 playing group.

Our return to Campbelltown this week unlocked the excitement and anticipation of round 1 and the season ahead. It’s now time to “ get comfortable being uncomfortable “ as we Hunt for History.

See you all at the footy.
