James Butterworth to play 200th ROCS game on Saturday
Congratulations to Butters on game 200 in Week 1 of the Finals
James Butterworth
"Butters" had only played some junior football for the Hectorville Football Club in the NEMJFA (North Eastern Metro Junior Football Association), and a handful of games for the Rostrevor College 10 B's, prior to making his ROCS debut in 2013.
He also played basketball and cricket whilst at Rostrevor.
A reliable tall defender, although used mainly as a mobile ruckman , the current A Grade vice captain has been a consistent and tireless performer for the ROCFC.
He has played in two Div 1 A Grade Grand Finals, and one Div 1R Grand Final.
Over the years he has developed into one of the competition’s best ruckmen.
His awards have included :
2015 - A Grade Best Team Man
2015 - A Grade Most Improved
2018 - Australian Champions League winners (Knockout competition)
2020 - A Grade Coach's Award.
2021 - A Grade Best and Fairest
2022 - A Grade Most Courageous
2023 - A Grade Best and Fairest Runner Up
