R11 Coaches Report
A's,B's & C's vs Edwardstown (D's won by forfeit)
A Grade Report Round 11 v Edwardstown @ Edwardstown
Heading into the game Saturday we expected a response. Put bluntly we failed to respond in the final wash up.
The first half was an arm wrestle with both sides grinding through the conditions each having their respective opportunities in front of goal. As is becoming a frustrating pattern our ball movement was not as predictable as we would like resulting in a number of damaging forced and unforced turnovers.
After the main break we were forced to make some positional changes in an attempt to leverage a performance impact.
The second half proved to be more of the same in terms of the contest with momentum shifts and opportunities.
Unfortunately, our fundamentals again deserted us at critical moments giving our opponents scoreboard ascendancy on the final siren.
There are “no excuses” in football it’s all about preparation, mindset, process and intent. As a group we must and will continue to push the standard to improve in all areas as we approach our next opportunity.
Final Score: ROCFC 5.5 (35) def. by Edwardstown 8.8 (56)
Goal Kickers : T. McCormack 2, F. Kernahan 1, S. Lanzoni 1, C. Kemp 1.
Best Players: C. Kemp, J. Butterworth, S. Lanzoni, D. McCallum, D. Reinbrecht.

B Grade Report Round 11 v Edwardstown @ Edwardstown
We played in tough conditions on Saturday heavy rain early and heavy track after that.
These conditions normally bring sides together – but from our point of view I believe we controlled the whole game. It’s a win we deserved as we have been improving our match play and confidence the last few weeks.
It was also great to see all players contributed to the game as with these conditions there was a lot of contested ball and stoppages which we did very well.
Many best players as I said – special mentions to Hugo Shute at full back his game is approving all the time – Hugo is from school this year and the way he has adapted to senior footy is great to see.
Stuart Greenslade and Tom Bradford continue their good form in the midfield.
Jimmy McGuiness is having a consistent year in the back pocket, completing a full back line that has been so reliable. Riordan McNamara in the other back pocket was again very good. Adam Greenwood role up forward again was important by applying pressure to the opposition defence and also himself gaining important possessions.
El Murada in the midfield was brilliant in conditions that suits him, his courage to play and his effort all game inspires this team, as does Harrison Twiggs as he rucks for a good percentage of the game.
A good win but we have a big challenge next week in Payneham at home, which we are all looking forward to.

C Grade Report Round 11 v Edwardstown @ Edwardstown
In what could be considered a genuine wet weather football day and after 8 players in and out of the team this week.
The C grade team had its work cut out for it at the Velodrome of Edwardstown Oval.
The Edwardstown team jumped our ROCs boys early and although we gave it some spirited efforts over the course of the day, we found it hard to peg it back.
The opposition gained confidence on their home deck and in the last quarter ran away with it.
It’s always hard playing without your regular teammates, but our boys really never gave in and fought hard all day.
Special mention to a strong presence by the defence punching out attack after attack from the Edwardstown team.
The stand in coach (while Franz is away for a couple of games) Chris Platten gave the lads every chance to play their style and enjoy the game.
Thanks to the lads for giving it their all.
We will be ready for a stronger result next week.
