A Grade Report - R13
On Saturday the A Grade came up against an inform Goodwood Saints outfit in what was a must win game if were to keep our goal of finishing Top 3 alive.
Looking to respond from a very disappointing performance against PAC last week, the players were first class in their attack on the ball and work rate around the ground.
Cameron De Visser played clearly his best game of the year at Half back, Coach Nick Murphy was the dominant forward on the ground kicking 4 goals and James Butterworth was superb all day against a quality opponent in the ruck.
The most pleasing part of our performance was the even contribution of all players. Other standouts on the day were Charles Jordan, Sam Jonas, Stefan Lanzoni, Jake Veide, Patrick Dawson and Dylan Reinbrecht.
This week we face another huge challenge in Payneham. The group are very keen to back up Saturdays performance and go into the bye with a strong win.
We hope to see you all at the Quarry.

A tough day for the C Grade coming up against the undefeated Goodwood Saints eventually running out 3.1 19 to 13.11 89.
A very physical first half kept the very young side in the game at half time but with a limited bench due to changes across the club the side couldn’t keep up when it mattered in the third quarter.
Best player on the day was Tom Warren who as a first year player really stepped up to the challenge and gave it everything he had. Matthew Mezzini was next best and played his best game of the year running around in a forward/Midfield roll. Skipper Tim Lewis was next best playing a strong defensive roll. Ever reliable Kane Cini was next best dominating the ruck for pretty much all day. First game player Lawson Nitscke played extremely well and did not look out of place running around in the C Grade. Ben Holman was our best team man. Goal Kickers were Matthew Mezzini, Alex Pietrobon and Tom Matsis.
Congratulations go to Lawson Nitschke who played his first game of C Grade for the club.
The C Grade are one game clear in 5th position but lead a pack of 3 other teams one game behind. This week’s game against Payneham will be a critical game in making sure we stay a head of the pack leading into potential finals footy.

D Grade Report - R13
Magnificent playing conditions this week as the Rocs travelled to the City taking on Old Ignatians in a 1.00pm fixture.
Again starting well with quick movement forward , the Rocs teamwork & run set up plenty of chances for our forwardline to work with. In a high pressure game Iggies were not out of the contest & answered back quickly.
Rocs accuracy on goal had us just In front at the end of a high quality game from both sides. 1/4 time scores Rocs 4-0 vs Old Ignatians 3-1
Rocs dominated general play but failed to capitalise on our advantage during the 2nd term , as costly skill errors & wasted opportunities kept the game alive. Iggies kept applying pressure around the contests forcing turnovers in dangerous areas. 1/2 time scores Rocs 7-5 vs Old Iggies 5-1.
The second half was a very disappointing affair as Iggies took control of the contest & answered back quickly every time Rocs looked like continuing on with the game . Our inaccurate conversion rate didn't help our cause & once Iggies hit the lead late into the last stanza a couple of quick goals ended any hope of a Rocs victory . Final scores Rocs 9-12 def by Old Iggies 12-8.
Best players: M.De Palma, J.McInerney, S.Tagg, Z.Aufterheide , J.O'Leary. Best team man J.Luppino
Goalkickers: H.Twiggs 2, S.Marotti 2, Z.Aufterheide 2, S.Bridge 1, S.Littler 1, T.Matsis 1.
Great effort from some Rocs legends helping out the Academy lineup this week with the Dilf (Sam Bridge) Litts (Scott Littler) Jono Trenorden & Butch (Matt McPeake) all having an influence during proceedings.
