Tom O'Malley plays his 150th ROCS game on Saturday. After debuting in 2012, "Tommy O" has played in three Div 1 A Grade Grand Finals. Tom was our best player in last year's Grand Final. In 2015 Tom played in the Div 1 Reserves premiership.

A Grade Report - R11

The A Grade faced the inform Adelaide Uni Blacks on Saturday at Campbelltown Oval and produced its first four quarter performance of the season.

We controlled the game from the first bounce and had a very even contribution from all 21 players. For the second week in a row we had over 26 scoring shots and shared the load well up forward.

Tom O’Malley was fantastic all day on the wing, Luke Manuel showed his class at stoppage and Shannon Snook was clean in close. Others who played well included James Jordan, Lewis McCormack, Craig Holm, James Butterworth and Dylan Reinbrecht.

The next 3 weeks will define our season as we play the 3 teams above us on the ladder. We cannot wait for the challenge and hope to see you all Saturday supporting the boys against PAC away.

B Grade Report - R11

Not teams best performance however a win nonetheless, final scores; ROCs 11.12.78 UNI 8.3.51

The game was scrappy early and tightly contested on the scoreboard with just a point the difference at quarter time.

The team started playing better footy in the second quarter and drew away the further the game went.

Goal kickers included T. McCormack with 4, J. Scutella 2 and one each for D. Carbone, N. Karagich, S. Hearn, D. Fitzsimons, J. Duperouzel J. Duperouzel was outstanding all day with his work rate and grunt around the contest, J. Ball enjoyed the freedom of the wing and was great when he went back. J. Tarca, and J. Massie R. Lymn continued their consistent form this year and T. McCormack was a great focal point, kicking 4 himself and also creating opportunities for his team mates.

We look forward to a big week on the track as we work towards PAC this weekend which in the context of our season is a very important game.

C Grade Report - R11

A strong C grade outfit managed to turn an almost 10 goal loss in round two against Adelaide Uni into a heart stopping 3 point win, final scores ROCS 9.3 to Adelaide Uni 8.6.

The C Grade started the best they have all season kicking 3 goals in a matter of minutes in the opening quarter to eventually lead Uni 6 goals to 1 at half time. From there Uni started to show its experience and would eventually take the lead with approximately 10mins left in the final quarter. It was very impressive to see the men who had lost all the momentum in the game turn it around and kick the winning goal within the last 4mins. From there it was a nervous wait to see the outcome of the game, however the men stayed strong and backed themselves in to get the 3 point win.

Tom Matsis was best on ground kicking 5 goals from the wing but also kicking the match deciding goal. First year players Tom Warren and Lewis Matsis were 2nd and 3rd best respectively, with both players making big impacts at critical times to help us get over the line. Henry Warren was next best and once again his tackling being a major highlight of the game with a rundown tackle in the final quarter which highlighted the groups endeavor to get the win. Our ruckman Kane Cini was another player who played well and stood up when we needed him the most. Best Team man went to Will Sullivan. Goal Kickers where Tom Matsis with 5Henry Dawson with 2 and probably the best pack mark I have ever seen him take in the second coming from 4-5 people deep,  Peter “Pistol” Sianis and Sam Warren both kicked one each.

We face a big challenge this coming week with PAC but I’m Sure the boys will be up for the challenge.

D Grade Report - R11

Arctic conditions greeted the Rocs Academy side in an away fixture vs Golden Grove this week. With both sides ticking over the scoreboard during a fast paced, entertaining first half of football featuring plenty of hard and heavy clashes, with the Rocs just holding on to a 9 pt lead by the long break.  1/2 time scores Rocs 5-3 vs G/Grove 3-6.

The 3rd stanza featured plenty of scoring opportunities for both sides, but the fast paced match had taken its toll with several of the Rocs players on the pine, done for the day. To the Rocs credit our team still fought out till the end, but Golden Grove proved to powerful in the contests & deep forward to hold on to the lead, winning a dour struggle by 8pts. Final scores Rocs 10-8 def by Golden Grove 11-10.

Congratulations on a fantastic 100 games of footy for the Mighty Rocfc goes to Stevie J Marotti our beloved Captain & goalsneak. Stevie J has been a creative goaklkicker during his career & led by example as Captain of the side.

Hopefully Stevie will have many more games representing the Red & Blacks.

Goalkickers - A. Pietrobon 6, A. Cream 2, S. Marotti 1, J .McInerney 1.

Best players - A. Pietrobon, J. McInerney, S. Tagg, A Cream, D. Leonard.  Best team man - B Davies.
