vs SPOCS all Grades @ Campbelltown Memorial Oval

All 4 grades played SPOCS at the Campbelltown Memorial Oval on Saturday.

The round marked the halfway point for all the ROCS teams, and wins before the bye were a must. See Coaches Reviews below.

Will O'Malley (200), Charlie Jordan (150) and Dan Franzon (50) all had milestone games - see previous week's report for more detail.

Jason Cavuoto will play his 50th after the break.

128 players have registered for the club thus far. 118 have played at least 1 game this season - 27 have made their ROCS debut.

After a well earned week off, ROCS will play an away triple-header against Unley Jets, whilst the D's are home to PAOC.

A special  mention this week to our hard-working medical staff: Physio Wahib Joubeir, Doctor Peter Hurley, Head-Trainer Vicki Lines and her assistants Jess Gray, Paige Mudge, Lucy O'Malley, Chani-Sioux Wilmott and Ben Ferrauto.

Enjoy the break.

A Grade Report - R9

The A grade played SPOC at Campbelltown Oval on Saturday. SPOC had been in good form and sat above ROC's on the ladder with a record of 5 wins and 3 losses.

ROC's kicked with the wind in the first quarter and scored 5 goals to SPOC's 0 goals. SPOC responded in the second quarter kicking the only 3 goals for the quarter.

ROC's took a 14 point lead into halftime and the second half of the match would prove to be a real arm wrestle. ROC's were able to fight off a valiant SPOC team in the second half and finish the game with an 18 victory.

Daniel McCallum, also known as the human Trangia, continued his strong form from the previous few weeks and dominated the game from the halfback flank. Dylan Reinbrecht dominated the last quarter of the game through the midfield and Cameron De Visser was solid all day up forward.

ROC's go into the midseason break sitting 4th with 5 wins and 4 losses. This coming midseason break gives the players and coaches some time to refresh both mentally and physically.

We look forward to seeing you all after the bye!

B Grade Report - R9

The B Grade went down to St Peters 4.5.29 to 13.11.89. It was a disappointing performance which saw the side out worked by a more desperate opposition team.

We are 4 and 5 heading into the break and have it all in front of us, we must continue to work hard to improve and get better at showing up as a team every week.

Special thanks to Ryan Holm & David Moyle for their support.

C Grade Report - R9

After last week’s disappointing loss, the C grade needed to bounce back against a SPOC side coming off a big win in their last game, and they did exactly that running out 7.3 to 4.7 winners.

It was a tight contest all day but the men were up to the challenge. We were lucky enough to have some players return to the side which made a big difference after last week.

Darren Leggett was best on in the midfield where he and 2nd best Trent Versace got the ball rolling forward all day. Kane Cini was third best and gave Darren and Trent first use all day. Tom Matsis was next best and provided plenty of spark in the forward line. Fellow forward Ben Davies was 5th best and provide excellent pressure all day. Best team man went to Will Sullivan who is having a fantastic first year back from Vietnam. Special mention goes to Henry Warren who ran down a SPOC forward from at least 50m ahead of him to stop a crucial goal in the second half.

Goal kickers were Tom Matsis 2, Peter Sianis, Will Sullivan, Jayden Smith, Trent Versace and Kane Cini  all with 1.

We look forward to the week off but can’t wait to keep the momentum of Saturday's win against Unley in a few weeks.

A big thank you goes out to all the Mum’s, Partners, Girlfriends, Sisters, Trainers and other women who not only made Saturday’s Ladies Day a huge success, but for all the other things that go on behind the scenes that make all players and our club the best club we can be.

D Grade Report - R9

A Huge day at Roc Park (CMO) starting with a daytime triple-header & finishing with a primetime Twighlight spectacular as all grades vs St.Peters OC - in our case C8 Reigning premiers . Milestones aplenty 200 magnificent games from Rocs legend Willo (Mr. Football) O'Malley. 150 superb games from the Fridge (Charlie) Jordan. 50 tenacious games from the Son of a Gun Daniel (Junkyard Dog) Franzon .. & Ladies Day .. Wowsers ..

The Twighlight match started with the Saints working together & running riot all over Roc Park. Smashing us on the scoreboard as we bumbled many chances, limping to 1/2 time well behind the Saints side. 1/2 time scores Rocs 2-7 vs SPOC 7-3.

We adjusted the line-up & put full focus on pressure around the contests , being first to the ball , & scrambling the ball quickly forward this set the Rocs Academy side into motion, harrassing, pressuring & forcing our way back into the contest. Booting 6-4 in the second half to fall agonisingly close by only 4 pts @ the final bell. Final scores Rocs 8-11 def by St. Peters OC 9-9.

Assisting our best players with fantastic desperation were defenders Diesel (Sam) Moten, Jack (cult hero) Thoday, Jack (Hey Dad) Haddad & Irish (Fergus) Shanahan. Ruckman Joel (the Baguette) Luppino & forwards Twigglet (Harry) Twiggs & Paul (Boris) Norris a great fightback from all the Team.
