A Grade Report - R6
The A grade played Payneham NU at Payneham on Saturday. ROCS A grade had lost their 3 previous games and were looking to bounce back this week and try and get back into the top 5.
ROCS started slowly with Payneham kicking the first 3 goals of the game. Inaccurate kicking and inefficient skills cost ROCS in the first half, kicking 3 goals 7 points. In the second half, the game opened up and ROCS were able to get their game plan flowing and run over the top of Payneham in the end, resulting in a 36 point victory. New recruit Jake Veide was influential in the midfield, co-coach Will O'Malley accumulated numerous possessions in the backline and Lewis McCormack was the dominant forward all day.
ROCS now find themselves in a logjam in the middle of the ladder, sitting on 3 wins and 3 losses for the season. This coming weekend the A Grade will face Brighton at Campbelltown in what shapes as another very important match in the context of the season. Look forward to seeing you all next week.

B Grade Report - R6
The B Grade had a pleasing come from behind victory defeating Payneham. Final scores - ROCs 12.5, Payneham 9.4.
The side was behind most of the game and trailed by two goals into the final break, the boys showed good character to pull away in the last quarter and run away with a 3 goal win.
Goal kickers included Tom McCormack with 5, Nick Karagich & Adam Richter with 2 and Joe Tarca, Michael Greenwood and Adam Greenwood with 1 goal each.
Better players included Joe Tarca who lead the way with his tackling and work inside, Josh Massie continued his great start to the year, Mitchell and Jackson Sutcliffe were fantastic and Tom McCormack was a handful for the opposition, kicking 5.
Our focus now turns to the weekend as we come up against the undefeated Brighton at home.

C Grade Report - R6
After a couple of tough weeks against quality opposition, the C Grade men finally got some reward and are back on the winners list running out 11.6 to 8.10 against Payneham.
The group put together a solid performance, with the team being hard at the footy all day. Although the score line suggests it was a tight affair, in my opinion after the first quarter when we were down a couple of goals at quarter time, the men took it to the next level and never looked back. It was pleasing to see everyone have a go and after last week’s performance where it just didn’t go our way, we managed to grind out a solid win.
Congratulations goes out to our captain Tim Lewis and promoted from playing some very good football in the D grade Ben Davies on both playing their 50th games for the club. Also congratulations to Daniel Leonard on getting his first win at the club.
Goal kickers for the day were Josh O’Leary with 3, Matthew Mezzini and Peter ‘Pistol’ Sianis with 2 each and Jack Haddad, Jayden Smith, Will Sullivan and Dylan Matthews all with one.
In terms of best players, there were a handful to miss out but special mentions go to Daniel Leonard, Lewis Matsis and Peter Sianis who all played very well and were doing all the right team things which helped us get the win. Our best team man was Tom Matsis who ran to all corners of the field to help out where required. 5th Best was Ben Davies who in his first game of C Grade for the year provide plenty of spark and pace around the ball in the forward line, resulting in plenty of goals. Our Captain Tim Lewis was next best with his leadership qualities really coming to the for front in the last couple of games playing at Centre half Back. Max Mckay and Kane Cini were the next best and both are in some strong form with Kane rucking pretty much all day. Will Sullivan was named best on ground and follows up the last few weeks where his aggression and pace around the footy have been second to none.
We play Brighton at home this week in which should be another hard fought contest, so let’s hope the boys are up for the fight.

D Grade Report - R6
Back at Rock Park (CMO) hosting an unknown opponent in Pembroke OS in fantastic footy conditions was the Rocs Academy Teams challenge this week.
A first quarter of fast paced flowing footy from both sides , set the standard of a seriously close fought encounter for the rest of the game. Neither side feeling confident enough at any stage of proceedings with 12pts at quarter time the biggest margin separating the Rocs & the Kings until late in the final stanza. 3/4 time score line Rocs 7-4 vs Pembroke 5-5.
Promise of a win for the team that worked together harder & longer during the final 22 mins. Rocs great pressure & desperation finally holding sway in a great contest of Aussie Rules Footy. Final scores Rocs 9-4 def Pembroke Kings 6-9.
Congratulations to Mitch (Rabbits) Warren on 50 fantastic games for the mighty Rocfc having a huge influence on the final result. Tom (Evolution) Evans on his Rocs debut & the Travelling Wilbury Jack (Candy Man) Tagg returning home after a few years of around the world adventures. Special mentions to The Duck (Mark) Dzido & Harry (Twigglet) Twiggs returning from injury both played vital roles at either end of the park to help guide the Rocs to a much needed win.
