ROCFC vs PAOC all grades - R3

All 4 Grades played Prince Alfred Old Collegians on the weekend.

A Grade

The main game at Park 9 was a tight tussle, with ROCS eventually losing 9.9 to 13.12. Kicking against the wind, ROCS again got away to a slow start and trailed by 26 points at the first break, and 11 at half time.

Down by just over 3 goals at the start of the final quarter, ROCS battled hard to stay in the game, but were unable to bridge the gap.

A couple of late goals saw PAOC get over the line by 27 points.

Craig Holm was back to his best, and captain James Jordan was again inspirational. Others to have good games included Stefan Lanzoni, Michael Coad (4 goals), James Butterworth, Anthony McCarthy, Kieran Holland (Best Team Man), Murphy Short and Dylan Reinbrecht.

The team now faces a rampant SPOC at Campbelltown Memorial Oval on Saturday.

B Grade

The highlight of the weekend was the B's win over Princes. The half-time scores were 4.7 to 5.1.

ROCS went into the last quarter with a 3 goal buffer. Kicking into the breeze, ROCS managed to outstay their opponents: 8.8 to 7.4.

Chris Ash was our best, followed by Joe Tarca, Harry Simpson, Hayden Swanbury, Tom McCormack (3 goals), Sam Hearn and Jason Cavuoto (Best Team Man).

The victory puts the B's back in the race and coach Damien Polkinghorne will be hoping the team picks up another win this week against the undefeated SPOC.

C Grade

After looking like winners early, ROCS were beaten by 20 points : 4.10 to 7.12. ROCS had led 4.4 to 0.2 at quarter time, but failed to register a major in the next 3 quarters.

Better players were: Justin McInerney, Tom Matsis, Jarrod Varley, Blake Wood and Matthew McPeake (Best Team Man).

Congratulations to "Butch" McPeake on playing his 100th game for the ROCFC. The C's now meet SPOCS in the early game of the tripleheader.

D Grade

The D's were the only ROCS side to play at home. Unfortunately they were defeated 8.12 to 15.3. Henry Warren was best, and others to play well were Nick Bartold, Sebastian Ciccarello, Angus Honner, Jack Hill, Josh Piantadosi and Matt Sauer (Best Team Man).
The D's are away to Tea Tree Gully  next week - 12.15 start.
