R2 A's B's & C's vs Unley Jets & D's vs North Haven

 

A Grade

The A's faced a danger game against newly-promoted Unley Mercedes Jets, at the Campbelltown Memorial Oval.

Despite a slow start, ROCS trailed by just 1 point at the first change, and after a solid second quarter led by 21 points at the main break.

Both teams battled hard in the third quarter, but ROCS ran out eventual winners : 12.11 to 6.11. Luke Manuel (3 goals) was best on ground.

Paul Fantasia and Charlie Jordan worked extremely hard, and others to play well included Scott Gilbert, Sam Jonas, James Butterworth, Matt Leigh, Dylan Reinbrecht and Dan McCallum.

Michael Coad kicked 3 goals.

Next week the A's are away to Prince Alfred Old Collegians.

 

B Grade

The B's needed to get a win after last week's loss, and battled hard against a superior opponent. Final scores were ROCS 4.3 to Unley 9.7.

Ferghus Kernahan was clearly our best, and others to play well included Harry Simpson, Elliot Shirley, Chris Ash (3 goals), Joe Tarca, Hayden Swanbury and Ryan Lymn.

The team will be chasing their first win in its match against PAOC next week.

 

 

C Grade

ROCS kicked off the triple-header on Saturday, with an impressive victory against the Jets : 10.4 to 7.4. The scores were 4.1 apiece at the long break.

Thomas Matsis and Mitchell Warren headed the best players list, closely followed by Harrison Twiggs (5 goals), ruckman Justin McInerney, skipper Jarrod Varley and Riley Slack.

Tom O'Leary played his 50th game, whilst Matthew McPeake is set to play his 100th next week against PAOC.

 

 

 

D Grade

ROCS had a day out against North Haven at Largs North Reserve, running out easy winners : 21.7 to 7.4.

Tyler Gava was superb kicking a lazy 10 goals. Simon Emanuele turned back the clock with a silky performance. Others to impress "Super-coach" included Jack Hill, Sebastiano Ciccarello, Henry Warren, Patrick Moller, Fergus Shanahan, captain Steven Marotti (3 goals) and big man Nick Bartold (3 goals).

Next week the D's play PAOC at Campbelltown.
