1st Semi-Final - A Grade Report
ROCS were back home at the "Quarry" for Saturday's knockout 1st Semi-Final.
In a hard fought game, ROCS defeated St Peters Old Collegians : 16.16 to 14.8.
Trailing by a goal at the first break, ROCS led by 4 points at half-time, and 1 point at the last change. The home side then played a great last quarter, going on to win by 20 points. Luke Manuel (4 goals) was outstanding. Michael Coad (6 goals) provided a strong target. Tullio De Matteis is playing his best footy at the pointy end of the season. Charlie Jordan was inspirational, whilst Craig Holm and James Butterworth both played 4 solid quarters. Sam Jonas, Captain James Jordan and coach Will O'Malley were others to play well.
The ROCS now meet Payneham Norwood Union (away), in this year's Preliminary Final at Payneham 2:15pm.
With a Grand Final spot on the line, the players will be looking for as much support as possible from the Red and Black army.
