R14 - D Grade Report
R14 - D’s Report (A’s B’s & C Grade bye)
Round 14 - D Grade
With the A, B and C grade sides all enjoying a week off, the D's played a stand-alone game against Adelaide University, at the Campbelltown Memorial Oval. ROCS kicked with a strong breeze in the first quarter and opened up an early lead : 6.2 to 1.2. The second quarter was far more even, and at half-time ROCS led 9.2 to 4.8.
Kicking with the wind again in the third quarter, ROCS extended the lead to 39 points at the last break, and eventually ran out comfortable winners : 19.7 to 7.10. Chris Pahl was best on ground. Sam Bridge helped set up the victory with 4 goals in the first half. Tom Carpinelli, Anthony Cream, Max Lawrance and Henry Dawson all had very good games. Luke "Moses" DuBois turned back the clock with 4 goals, and it was pleasing to see first year player Patrick Moller get amongst the goal-kickers with 2 majors.
Congratulations to Glenn Castellano and Scott Littler on playing their 100th game for the ROCFC.
This Saturday the D's are away to Old Ignatians (Park 25, 2.15 p.m.), whilst the other grades have a home triple-header against Brighton.
Well done to Cameron Ball on making his League debut for Norwood on the weekend. The Rostrevor College old scholar made a cameo appearance for the ROCS B grade last season, and younger brother Lachlan is developing quickly in his first season at the Quarry.
