R5 - A Grade Report V Port District from Club Coach Will O'Malley
The A Grade played a very important match against Port District at Cambelltown Oval on Saturday. Both sides went into the match 2-2. The whole first half was very tight, with both sides looking dangerous when going forward with the football. At half time we went in 2 points up. Unfortunately some undisciplined acts crept into our game in the 3rd quarter which costs us 3 goals and we went into the last break 16 points down.
I was extremely proud of how the players responded in the last quarter, we certainly started to take control of the midfield battle, with Tim Baccanello and Luke Manual both playing enormous last quarters. Heath Commane (4 goals) Paul Fantasia (2 goals) and James Jordan kicked really important goals up forward and Anthony McCarthy and Ben Jonas were fantastic down back.
To Port Districts credit once we did hit the front in the last quarter they responded and took the lead back, but again the boys responded with two more goals to secure the victory by 7 points.
A really pleasing result against a quality opponent. We must back up this performance this Saturday against Brighton down at Brighton Oval. Your support is greatly appreciated.

Round 5 - B, C & D Grade Reports from Football Director Rino Cialini
C Grade
The C's kicked off proceedings at the Quarry with a 10.15 a.m. start. They fought manfully against highly fancied Port Districts, but finally went down by 27 points : 4.5 to 8.8. Elliot Shirley was our best, continuing his run of fine form. Captain Jarrod Varley again led from the front, and others to impress included Jason Cavuoto, Dan Gilbert, John McCarron and Tom Matsis. Vice-captain Carlton Hollsten kicked 2 goals. This week the team is away to bottom placed Brighton.
B Grade
Damien Polkinghorne's players were up against the unbeaten Port District. ROCS led at every break, and finally won a tough encounter 12.9 to 11.6. Tom McCormack continues to improve, and was best on ground with 7 goals in a low-scoring match. Harry Simpson and Jackson Sutcliffe both had very good games and are also players of the future. Matt Leigh was impressive in his first game for the club, after missing 12 months recovering from a knee injury. Nich Karagich looked at home at centre-half forward. Adam Richter was again very important and kicked 3 goals, whilst Dylan Fitzsimons had his best game for 2019. The B's now face a danger game against Brighton Bombers.
D Grade
"Supercoach" Edwards' men played Port District at home in the late game. (Start time 4.45 p.m.). With Peter Sianis putting on a clinic, ROCS opened up an early lead and were never headed. Final scores: 14.14 to 2.4. The club welcomed back Sam Bridge while Luke Skoblyk made his ROCS debut. Both players helped add much needed experience to the group. "Murray" Bridge was B.O.G, followed by Luke "Skobber", "Pistol-Pete" Sianis (3 majors), Angus Honner , Carlisle Jones and Alex Pietrobon (Best Team Man). Congratulations to Nick "Bang-Bang" Bartold on playing his 50th game on Saturday. Sadly, injury has prevented him from getting to the milestone earlier, but he has proved to be a valuable and popular member of Stevo's teams over the years. ROCS meet undefeated Tea Tree Gully at the Campbelltown Memorial Oval on Saturday (2.15 pm).
