ROCFC vs TTG - Grand Final Report
ROCS were defeated in the 2018 Div 1 Grand Final by Tea Tree Gully : 9.9 to 13.15.
Played on the Thebarton/Aldi Oval, we were only able to match TTG 's intensity for parts of the game, and impressed for short periods.
The quarter time scores were ROCS 3.2 to TTG 3.3, and at the main-break it was 4.2 to 5.10. At the last change the scores had drifted to 6.6 to 9.14. Still in with a chance, ROCS scored a couple of early goals in the last term, but TTG steadied and ran out comfortable winners.
Congratulations to Gullies who thoroughly deserved their victory, and beat us in both finals.
Coach Adrian Rocco's best players were : Sam Jonas, Kieran Holland, Ben Jonas, Jim Jordan, Paul Fantasia, Will Mead and Tim Baccanello.
The A Grade Grand Final will ultimately be seen as a wasted opportunity, given the player list available and the fact we played the decider on our "Home" ground.
The coaching group, players and medical staff have had to train at several different venues during the year - and have had to contend with the occasional late change in time/location. Everyone has coped very well under the circumstances, but will be relieved to be back at Campbelltown in 2019.
