Round 3 Report

A/B/C's vs Goodwood Saints and R4 for D's vs Edwardstown

The D's travelled to Edwardstown for their 4th round clash, and won easily : ROCS 19.22 - Edwardstown 0.1

Harry Simpson (5 goals)
was clearly best on ground.  Oliver Bowler was superb. Daniel Franzon has been a consistent performer and continues to impress. Max Tarca was very good in his ROCS debut, whilst Will Critchley (3 goals), Luke Turner and Paul Emanuele
(4 goals) were all valuable contributors.

Coach Mark Twiggs
has his team knocking on the door of the top 5, and this week are at Foxfield Oval against Elizabeth.

Our A/B/C's played their third round triple-header,  against Goodwood Saints, at Thebarton.

The C Grade had one of its more disappointing results in recent times, going down to Goodwood Saints 1.2 to 12.16. Damien Moyle showed his class, and was our best player, closely followed by John McCarron. Others to try hard included John Harrison, Justin McInerney, Ben Davies and Simon Emanuele. Simmo was also named best team man. Nick Collins played his first game for the club.

"Super-coach"  Edwards and the team now have two weeks to re-group, before playing Athelstone, after the bye.

The B's had a convincing win against Goodwood Saints : 11.9 to 5.7. Lewis McCormack (3 goals) was best on ground, and was well supported by the consistent Chris Ash, Trent Versace, Nick Scheid, Jackson Sutcliffe, Ben Jonas, Tom O'Malley, Peter Vorrasi (3 goals) Adam Richter and Dylan Fitzsimons. Tyler Gava  reached his well deserved 100 game milestone for the club. Coach "Polky" has a much younger list to work with this season, but remains undefeated after 3 games, and this week is looking forward to meeting  top side Tea Tree Gully, away.

Adrian "Rock" Rocco's A Grade were solid winners against Goody Saints : 9.8 to 3.6. After the ROCS had led 5.2 to 0.0 at quarter time, the match deteriorated into a dour affair, with scoring opportunities difficult to come by.

Luke Manuel
was outstanding, and newcomer Patrick Dawson creative. Other better players included Daniel McCallum, Will Mead, Will O'Malley, Tullio De Matteis and Craig Holm. Heath Commane finished with 3 majors.

Skipper Will O'Malley won the Anzac Day medal for best afield, as voted on by the Field Umpires.

Congratulations to Ferghus Kernahan on his A Grade debut.

ROCS A Grade vs Goodwood Saints Highlights R3

The team now play Tea Tree Gully away, in what promises to be a hard fought encounter. As always, the more supporters we can get to the match, the better it is for our players.
