ROCS played a triple-header - A's & B's vs Salisbury North and C's vs Uni

On yet another perfect day for footy, ROCS played a triple-header at the Campbelltown Memorial Oval.

The C Grade were up against second-placed Adelaide University, and in a high standard, entertaining clash, ran out winners : 11.10 to 7.4. Ryan Grigg found a lot of the ball, and was best on ground. Jarrod Varley was excellent. Liam Holland continued on from last week booting another 4 goals. Joe Tarca, Trent Versace and Nathan Czernich, were other major contributors. Paul Norris was the only other multiple goal-scorer with 2 goals. ROCS are the only undefeated team in C1, and it's just reward for the work put in by all the players, new captain Matt Sauer and Steve "Super-Coach" Edwards.

Damien Polkinghorne was forced to make several changes to last week's B Grade line-up , but the team still managed to win by over 100 points. The 18.17 to 3.3 score-line highlighted the Red and Black's dominance. Chris Ash was back to his form of a couple of seasons ago. Scott Gilbert was again dominant, Ben Jonas was solid, Zak Noonan continues to impress, as does Ben Yates. John Harrison (5 goals) and Blake Mios (4 goals) were others to play well. ROCS remain undefeated in D1R, and have moved into second spot on the table.

"Rock" had the A Grade primed for their clash against Salisbury North. Whilst ROCS seemed to be in control of the game from the start, the margin was only 15 points at half-time. A stronger second half saw ROCS run out comfortable winners : 17.15 to 5.10.

Daniel McCallum
and Jimmy Jordan were superb, Tom Hurley creative, and Braden Allen and Nick Dinham played their best game for the club. Nick Hombsch and Jacob Gillbee kicked 3 goals each. Others to impress included Tullio  DeMatteis, Kieran Holland and Charlie Jordan.

Next week ROCS are home to the much-improved Port Districts, who are sitting just behind us in third position, with the same number of wins.

See you at "ROC Park" on Saturday, when all three sides face Port Districts - C grade kicks off at 10.15 am.
