Round 3 Report
R3 - ROCS A's & B's vs TTG & C's vs Modbury
The C Grade was at home for their Round 3 clash against Modbury. Despite a late run by the Hawks, ROCS ran out eventual winners : 9.10-8.3.
Better players included Joe Tarca, Ryan Grigg, John McCarron, Sam Newman in his 50th game, and Tom Carpinelli. Steve " Super-Coach" Edwards and the boys will be back at Campbelltown this week, playing PAOC at 10.15 a.m, and hoping to sing the "Choomalaka" once again.
Damien Polkinghorne's B Grade travelled to Perteringa Oval, to face Tea Tree Gully, in what is normally a difficult task. ROCS won a high standard, low-scoring encounter, 8.9 to 6.9. The scores were tied away 4.5 apiece at half time, but a 3.3 to zero third quarter set up the ROCS victory.
Ollie Wilkie was our best, followed by Charlie Jordan, Tom O'Malley, Connor Deegan, and Anthony "Prez" Medhurst (3 goals).
Like the C's, the B grade remain undefeated after the first 3 rounds. Unlike the C's however, they will play SPOCS, at home this week.
Unfortunately, the A's got away to another very slow start against Gullies, and played catch-up footy for the last 3 quarters.
Final scores were 11.8 to 14.11.
Paul Fantasia was adjudged our best player, and others to impress included James Jordan, Kieran Holland, Luke Allen, skipper Will O'Malley, Craig Holm and Jack Nelligan.
Having suffered their first loss of the season, Coach Adrian "Rock" Rocco and the players will be keen to regroup for their clash against SPOC, at home.
After last Saturday's game, many of the players headed to the Pavilion at Rostrevor College for the "POVS" night. It was great to see current and past players, supporters etc attend the event.
