Finals Week 1 Report

A's vs Salisbury North and C's vs Henley

Our C's were at home to Henley on Saturday in the Qualifying Final. Despite a couple of late goals in a low scoring match, ROCS were defeated by 3 points (6.4 to 6.7).

The consistent Nick McDonough was our best, followed by Tyler Gava (2 goals), Sam Tagg, Joe Tarca and Marcus Quinn.

The team now plays Athelstone in this week's 1st Semi-Final at the Aldi Arena (Thebarton Oval), starting at 10.15am.

Congratulations to Sam Tagg on winning the C1 Medal on Thursday night. "Taggy" finished his schooling at Rostrevor College in 2010, and joined the ROCFC in 2012. A speedy and courageous centre-man/rover, the 23 year old has played 83 games for the club.
In 2013, "Taggy" missed ROCS' C1 Grand Final win, after breaking his leg in a lead up final. Last season he was a member of the Div 1 Reserves  Premiership team.

The A's lost their knockout final against Salisbury North. Although we had the majority of the play, the ROCS were unable to take their chances, and eventually went down by 12 points (8.12 to 11.6).

Jack Nelligan and Craig Holm were outstanding in the midfield, Mitch Sutcliffe dominated the centre bounces, and Will O'Malley and Anthony Medhurst (2 goals) led by example. Sam Du Bois and Daniel Bell (2 goals)  were also impressive contributors.

We encourage all ROCS  fans to get along to Thebbie Oval on Saturday, and support our C Grade. Haydn (Haydos/Son Of Stevo) Edwards is due to play is 100th game, and Matthew (Butch/Brother Of Dilshan) McPeake his 50th.
