Round 13 Report
A's & B's vs PAOC and C's vs PHOS
ROCS A Grade got off to a slow start, against top of the table Prince Alfred OC. Down by 8 goals at half time, ROCS had an impressive third quarter, and much better second half overall, but were eventually beaten 12.10 to 7.9.
James Jordan was excellent in his 100th game, and played with the same fierce determination and attack on the ball and the body, as he has done in his other 99 matches.
Skipper Will O'Malley made a welcomed return from injury to be named second best. Others to do well included Brendan Littler, Kieran Holland, and Anthony Medhurst. Heath Commane kicked 4 goals.
The B's fought hard against a strong PAOC line-up, but eventually went down by 31 points. Daniel Bell was our best, followed by Mick Aloisi, the very consistent Will Mead, the rapidly improving Ben Jonas, Ryan Grigg and Bailey Nisbett.
The C Grade got up in their danger game against PHOS Camden, by 31 points. Sam Wilson was best on ground on Saturday. Others to play well included Tom Moore (in his 149th game), Matt Sauer, Nick McDonough and Sam Tagg.
Jason Cavuoto played his first game for ROCS. "Super-coach" Stevo Edwards has his team gearing up for the finals, having won 10 out of 12 matches. Coincidentally, the margin in the 3 ROCS matches was 31 points.
The A and B's have next week off, whilst the C's have the next two Saturdays without a game.
