Round 6 Report
R6 vs Unley Mercedes Jets
After a solid away win against Henley in Round 5 (13.9 to 9.4), the ROCS were back home at Campbelltown,
for its clash against newly promoted Unley Mercedes Jets.
It was great to see so many come out to support the Past Players/Officials and Sponsors Day.
In near perfect conditions, the A's ran out winners, 17.13 to 13.14.
Chris Pahl and Brendan Littler were our best two players. Anthony Medhurst continued his run of good form,
whilst Tom Hurley and Jack Nelligan were also important contributors.
The side has moved into the top three, and now faces two tough away games before the bye. Coach Sean Jackson and the players are looking forward to the challenge of playing Payneham Norwood Union this week - a side we failed to beat in three encounters last season.
In further good news, the B's had their first win for the year, eventually defeating Unley by 22 poiints. It was just reward for Craig "Lambo" Lambert and his players, and we hope it's a sign of things to come. Josh Weaver, Jordan Carrocci, Will Mead, Lachlan Kitson and Sam DuBois were in the best players again, and Scott Littler played his best game since returning to the club.
The C's had a bye, but decided on a training run before the B Grade game. More than 30 enthusiastic players attended the session. Steve "Super-Coach" Edwards' undefeated team will be away to arch rivals SHOC's this weekend.
