Wigs resigns as coach

Letter from the President David Gilbert

Our A Grade Coach, Tom Wigley, has advised that he will not be coaching next year.

This year he has balanced the needs of a young family, his podiatry business and the football club. However, he now feels that it is time to pass the role to some-one else. In advising us so soon after the season, he has given us every opportunity to secure the best possible replacement.

As we all know, Tom was the coach who took our club to its first Div. 1 Premiership in 2013. This was followed by a subsequent grand final appearance and another finals campaign this year. Tom was also voted League Div. 1 ‘Coach Of The Year’ for both 2013 & 2014.

Tom always had a very professional attitude and won the respect of the players and every-one associated with the club.  The next coach has very big shoes to fill.

I am certain that we will see Tom around the club for the remainder of 2015 and for many years to come.

I know that every-one associated with the club will join me in wishing Tom all the very best for the future – in his family, business and football life.
