Coaches Report R6

Rd 6 Vs Salisbury North away.

It was disappointing to have our 4th loss for the season, which now finds us in position where we are fighting to avoid relegation at the same time as fighting to stay in touch with the top 5.

We started the game Ok and provided ourselves with enough opportunities in the first quarter and we should have been leading at quarter time. But unfortunately we didn’t make the most of these opportunities and our poor tackling allowed Salisbury North to break free around the congestion and their good ball use really hurt us.

Their ground level and running players had the better of ours throughout the match and their ball use was a lot sharper than ours too.

James Butterworth, Kieran Holland and Lachie Surman battled hard in defence. Tim Baccanello and Tom Hurley found some ball through the midfield and never gave up the fight and Anthony Medhurst did some really good things.

I understand it is very frustrating for our supporters at the moment, as it is for our playing group and coaches. I can assure you we will continue to work hard on the track to improve the areas we have been down on and we will continue to tweak things in search of more consistency.
