Coaches Report - R18 & Finals Update

Rd 18 Vs HENLEY (Away) match review & Finals Update

Despite a number of forced changes from the previous week we started our last minor round of the season in terrific fashion. Playing brave, running football we moved the ball well when Henley had it we defended brilliantly. Our effort and execution was rewarded with a three goal lead at quarter time.

Henley won more of the ball in the second quarter and were able to put our defence under pressure which saw them kick 3.4 to our 2.1 to reduce our lead to 3 points at half time.

The third quarter saw us win plenty of the ball. Unfortunately, the amount of ball we won didn't directly correlate to the score we were able to kick. Despite having a lot more of the ball we were only able to out score Henley by 4 points in this third quarter. Some sloppy accountability allowing Henley their only goal. Three quarter time scores: ROCS 7.3 to Henley 5.8.

The last quarter we simply couldn't get our hands on the ball and our defensive actions were very poor. This resulted in one way traffic going Henley's way and a one sided quarter of footy. Final scores: ROCS 8.5 to Henley 12.10.

We now move our focus to playing finals with an elimination final against PNU at Payneham Oval this Saturday.

The C's and B's are also playing in elimination finals.

A's vs PNU (2.15pm) at Payneham Oval

B's vs Uni (12.15pm) at Payneham Oval

C's vs Henley are at (12.15pm) at Henley Memorial Oval.
