A-Grade Report V TTG from Coach Will O'Malley

The A Grade played another patchy game against reigning premier Tea Tree Gully but ran away strong 74 point winners. The margin probably should have been much more but for inaccurate kicking in front of goal and around the ground.

Better players included Will Mead, Luke Manual, Lewis McCormack, Tim Baccanello and Tom O’Malley. Heath Commane was dangerous up forward kicking 4.7 and was well supported by Michael Coad with 3 goals. Congratulations to James Telfer who played his first A grade game.

Our Captain James Jordan played his 150th game for the club. James has always been a great leader of the club and continues to make his strong presence felt out on the ground. We face SPOC back at the Quarry this week, in what is a season defining game. As always your support is greatly appreciated.

B Grade

ROCS extended their winning streak to 6 by defeating Tea Tree Gully away, 12.9 to 4.8. (Half-time 6.4 to 2.3). Tom McCormack provided a great focal point up forward, and finished with 8 majors. Adam Richter chipped in with 2, and Dylan Fitzsimons 1.

"T Mac" was best on ground, followed by the ever-reliable Zac Noonan, the improving Kaya Scott, Kane Cini, Dylan Fitzsimons and Mitch Warren. This Saturday ROCS play SPOC at home in another very important clash. The ladder shows ROCS currently in 5th spot - equal points with top, and 1 game ahead of 6th.

C Grade

The C's fought hard but were eventually defeated by TTG, 8.1 to 10.4. (Half-time 5.1 to 5.4). Fair to say ROCS were not helped on the day by one of the more puzzling umpiring displays.

Our better players were Jason Cavuoto (best on ground), Tom Matsis, Matthew "Butch" McPeake, Riordan McNamara and Isaac IvancicMax McKay was the best team man, and Nick Platten the leading goal-scorer with 2, on debut. Despite the loss, ROCS retains third spot and play SPOC at home in this Saturday's 10.15 am clash.

D Grade

ROCS chalked up another win, defeating Payneham Norwood Union away, 16.15 to 7.8. (Half-time 10.6 to 4.2). Luke Skoblyk was voted our best player, and other strong performances came from the consistent Anthony Cream, Nick Bartold, Sam Bridge, Paul "Chuck" Norris, and Simon Emanuele. Peter Sianis was named best team man, and the main goal-scorers were Paul Emanuele (5), Cream and Norris 3 each. Former A Grade Best and Fairest winner, Scott Littler, played his 99th game for the ROCFC. The win moves ROCS into second place, and this week are away to the undefeated TTG.

Milestones :

Congratulations to Club Captain James Jordan on reaching his 150 game milestone. It was fitting that the A's had a win. Jimmy has been a great role model and a fantastic team-man.
